What does an Amazon Delivery Associate do?

As a delivery associate, you will deliver packages to homes, retail locations, and other delivery locations.

In order to meet promised delivery times, you will efficiently sort and prepare your delivery route.

Amazon will provide you with handheld technology to manage delivery progress and navigate around obstacles.

Sometimes you will hand a package directly to a customer which means interacting in a positive and a professional manner at all times.

Would I be an Amazon employee?

Yes! Delivery Associates are full-time Amazon employees. 

Do I need to have a commercial driver's license (CDL)?

A commercial driver's license is not required.

Can I choose how many hours I want to work every day?

Delivery Associates are full-time jobs, requiring 40 hours a week. All shifts are day shifts.

Do I need to provide my own vehicle?

No, unlike gig-economy driver jobs, Amazon will provide access to a delivery vehicle.

Basic qualifications

  • Possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence
  • Proficient in English sufficient to meet US DOT standard of ability to read road signs and communicate with regulatory personnel
  • High-school diploma or equivalent

Minimum requirements

  • Ability to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts up to 12 hours long
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week. This position is full time.
  • Ability to operate and navigate a 10,000 pound van
  • Ability to effectively operate a GPS
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 70 pounds each
  • Capable of moving up and down stairs
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence
  • 21 years of age or older
